What the DWL-121 USB Wireless Antenna looks like.

This Wireless-B antenna, manufactured by D-Link specifically for the DMP1, is a small lightweight package that can be mounted anywhere in the car. It incorporates the PRISM chipset.

The connector is a USB Mini-B plug. The receiving end of the DMP1 is a standard USB A. The DWL-121 comes with a long (10ft) USB-A to USB-Mini-B connector.

Mounting Locations

According to the DMP1 manual, the recommended location for this antenna is "above the window line," and in range of the Wireless-B Access Point (base station).

An alternate USB Wireless Antenna

This Wireless-B antenna, manufactured by D-Link, is a package that has been delivered for use with the DMS1 streaming media player. It incorporates the PRISM chipset and therefore should be compatible with the DMP1, and interchangable with the DWL-121.

The connector is smaller than a standard USB Mini-B plug and is not interchangable with the DWL-121. The receiving end of the DMP1 is a standard USB A. The DWL-120 comes with a 6ft USB-A to USB-Mini-B connector.
